Grey & Lilac Grey Wedding Gowns ~ The Hot Alternative To Blush

Hello lovelies! How is your day this fine freeezzzing winter day? It’s just a bit (meaning a whole lot) cold up here in good old Michigan. Which even though I hate the cold, is really how it is supposed to be up here in January. So I am happy the weather is more “normal” than when we were having Tornados in December! (Btw, I’m a weather nut so weather talk actually intrests me lol)
One good thing about Winter to me is all the Awesomely Gorgeous Winter Weddings & Styled Shoots! We get to see what the many creative minds came up with for all the new Fall/Winter gowns, so exciting! And Soooo many pretties πŸ’–πŸ˜ŠπŸ’–
I was on Pinterest & Etsy.com *Swooning* over all the pretty gowns & decor and such, when I noticed A LOT of new grey/greyish purple wedding gowns on my fav designers sites. Even some old favs are available in grey now. Grey isn’t anything new of course, been around as long as all the other colors lol. But whoa what an influx that seems to be going on this Winter! And of course I’m in Love β™₯β™₯
What seems to be happening, to me anyway, is Blush gowns have become so much part of the “norm” for wedding gowns in the last few years that now Grey is becoming the new “it” alternative color of choice. An alternative to the alternative if you will. Especially for brides who want a bit of color but not be totally “untraditional”. What do you all think? Do you see this trend evolving & are you loving it or not so much? I think it is going to be sticking around for quite a few seasons. Especially with Pantone’s Lilac Grey helping it along! Here are some pretties to help you decide: Enjoy!

Pantone Colors of 2015 ~ Scuba Blue

Hello there my sweets! Hope everyone has had a wonderful week! Tgif πŸ˜€ I was going through all my posts yesterday and noticed I haven’t done a “Pantone Color” post in a bit. So I thought I’d better get my bootie movin’ and get ’em done!
Looking at the Pantone colors from spring I thought the color that could go with a spring or summer wedding/event (and even fall or winter if done right) is Scuba Blue ~

image

~ via pantone.com

According to Pantone “An invigorating turquoise, Scuba Blue conveys a sense of carefree playfulness.Β Even though a cool shade, the vibrancy of Scuba Blue adds a splash of excitement to the palette.” Β It is definitely one of my favorite colors. The ocean is a very special place to me. Even though I’ve only been there a few times, I am always instantly at peace when I’m by the ocean πŸ™‚ This color reminds me of spring break & lazy summer days. I can really see why a lot of people would chose this color for their wedding. It is just a happy color for a very special, happy day!

If you’re thinking of a Beach or Tropical theme for your Big Day, this is the perfect color to use as the main focus. Here I used Pink, Purple, Gold, Yellow & Neutrals as accents to show how many different ways you can have a Beach/Tropical Theme without being boring:

Aren’t they so pretty? As you can see, even all these beach weddings can have a different vibe depending on how you use colors.
But this color isn’t just for the beach! I was happily surprised to see how versital it really is. As some of you know, Red is my all time favorite color! And when you put these 2 together you get instant Retro-Awesome! πŸ™‚

image

image

image

How fun is that?? I loooove the red checker VW Bus! I could have made 10 boards with these colors easily lol. Even if you LOVE Red like me but don’t want to go “Retro”, this color combo can quite Elegant as well:

image

Aaaand Red can be used in a Beach theme too!

image

Now if you want a bright fun summer theme without the beach then I highly suggest Yellow ~

image

image

That embroidered gown in the top set is to die for! Isn’t it?!
Now last but of course never least. I put a few ideas together to show how this wowzzer of a color can be great for fall & winter as well. It’s definitely unique & that’s why I Love It! 💖💖

And there ya have it. Sucba Blue πŸ™‚ As I think you can tell I reeeeeally like this color! I hope you all do now too! I’d love it if you could let me know your thoughts in the comments! Have a blessed day and see ya next time! Don’t forget ~ always add a little Dapper to your everyday. Peace ✌ 💖

Pantone Colors for Fall 2015

Β Β Β Β  Hi there my beauties πŸ™‚ I hope you’re all having a great week so far. I’ve been doing well. My granddaughter’s Birthday was on Monday so I got to spend the day with all of them. I just can’t believe she is already 4 yrs old.Β Smh lol. Seems like her momma was just turning 4 lol.

image

Doesn’t she just melt your heart!? 💖💖
Sorry, I just can’t help myself lol.
Oh! Yes, and a bit of good news ~ the wedding photos are in! So I will be posting them very soon πŸ™‚

Alrighty then! Now let’s get to the reason y’all are reading this shall we?
Recently Pantone released their color picks for Fall 2015. As some of you know, I’ve been blogging about the Spring Colors for 2015, so I thought why not add the new ones in as well? I was pretty excited when I saw them. I think Pantone did a fabulous job picking some beautiful colors that transition really well with their Spring picks. And here they are….

Β Β Β

image

See? I think they’re all lovely. And don’t freak out if you picked a “Spring” color(s) for your Summer/Fall wedding either. As you can see, the Fall palette has slightly deeper hues than Spring but that doesn’t mean you have to only use them for the season they’re released.Β  Especially if you’re picking Marsala (color of the whole year). You could throw in a Fall shade with your Spring ones for a bit of added depth. Or use a Spring to brighten up a Fall palette! When I saw these colors I seriously squealed with million combos running through my head! I found myself instantly drawn to Amethyst Orchid, Biscay Bay, Cashmere Rose, Reflecting Pond and Stormy Weather. They’re all so pretty!

image

image

image

image

image

I think I will do a blog on each of those as well as finish up the Spring ones I have for you. Hopefully this helps some of you get an idea or two for the big day you’re planning! Honestly that is the reason I started this blog. Your color palette and theme are one of the very first decisions you HAVE to make in the planning, it can be so overwhelming. Seeing ideas in photos and having color guides to use make things a bit more tolerable! πŸ™‚
So what were your favorite color(s) for the Fall 2015? Let me know in the comments! It would help me out so much! Are there any other color or color combos you’d like to see a blog on? I’d be happy to help put your ideas into pics you can look at πŸ™‚
I hope y’all have a great rest of the week & I’ll see you next time.

Pantone Wedding Color Inspiration 2015 Part 1

image

Hello all! How was your weekend? Mine was Fantabulous!! I spent Saturday with my oldest picking out her wedding gown & cake! I’m still on cloud 1000 lol! I’d love nothing more than to post tons of pics, but I decided that would be best left until After the actuall wedding. (Don’t want someone seeing things they’re not supposed too) It is Her big day. So Mommy is trying very hard to let it be All hersΒ  πŸ™‚ I will say she has the greatest fashion sense so I know anything she picks is going to be fabulous.

Since this blogging thing is pretty new to me, I figured I might start things off by doing a series on the list of wedding colors by Pantone for 2015. If you don’t know, Pantone is THE color expert supreme. Every designer worth their salt follow their “Color Reports” every season, and they also pick One “Color of the Year” (aka the “it” color). The big name designers also vote on it too, which I think is really cool. You can see for yourself at pantone.com if you’d like :). So if you’re trying to figure out what colors you want for your Big Day, it is a great reference guide. And if you already know your colors, but are in a planning rut or don’t know what colors coordinate with your main choice, maybe this will be the inspiration you need! I hope this helps. To start things off is Pantone’s color of the year ~ Marsala.

image

I was so happy when Pantone announced the color of the year. Mostly because my fav color on the planet is Red lol. So, anything red will pretty much make my day. This shade is named for the color of the wine whose roots are in Italy. It’s a beautiful deep shade that is pretty versatile. I don’t think the color swatch pantone used for it is very flattering unfortunately. It is such a pretty color when you see it applied in real life.

image

image

See? Isn’t it gorgeous? According to Pantone Marsala is ” Equally appealing to men and women, Marsala is a stirring and flavorful shade” and ” Flattering against many skin tones, sultry and subtle Marsala is a great go-to color for beauty.”Β  It is great to use as your main foucus.

image

image

And of course, don’t forget the guys

image

It adds such a warm mood & tone to any setting. If your taste doesn’t lean towards the darker side of the color wheel, you can also use it as an accent to brightened up pretty pastels as well.

image

image

I have to say though, my favorite is pairing Marsala with pretty neutrals & metallic hues.

image

image

It just seems to add a cozy feel to anything really. I also think if you are not really feeling like adding any red shades to your wardrobe or decor, you can use Marsala for you or your Maids & Mums makeup looks.

image

image

image

image

I know Marsala probably won’t be the next big color craze anytime soon. But to me that just adds to the charm. It’s different, unexpected, but warm and inviting at the same time. Well I hope this helped some of you on your Big Day color quest. What do you think of The Color of the Year? What colors do you think it would look good with? Let me know in the comments! And hope to see y’all next time when the color I’ll be showing is Strawberry Ice πŸ™‚ Remember to always add a lil Dapper to your everyday! ❀
