Pantone Color of the Year 2017 (And my 2 year blogaversary)

Hello out there my lovlies! And Happy New Year!  I truly hope you are all doing well. It’s been waaaay too long since I wrote a blog. But I thought what a perfect time to do it! Pantone recently announced their Color of the Year for 2017 and it also happens to be my 2nd anniversary since I started blogging. YAY!

Pantone went with an earthy yellow green this year called “Geenery” (which is funny because that’s the name of a restaurant I worked at for 10 years lol)

Now I do think it is a pretty shade for sure…But… I have to be honest, Green is not very high on my list of favorite colors. And out of the 2 greens that Pantone listed in the top 10 of 2017, I liked Kale better.

Like I said, Greenery is a pretty color. Just not my fav. I can see it making for some seriously Gorgeous weddings for sure! Here is the rest of the Top 10 for you.

As you can see, the trend definitely seems to be leaning towards earthy, muted & dusty colors. Even the “brighter” shades are muted. Which I have been seeing this trend for a few months now, especially in the beauty industry. I think I’m going to officially say 2017 is the year of the “Ugly Pretty Colors”!! Yep! That describes it perfectly 💚💚💚👍💯 According to Pantone the top 10 is “A Mixture of Vitality, Relaxation and the Great Outdoors” and Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute said, “One of the things that we saw this year, was a renewed sense of imagination in which color was appearing in context that was different than the traditional”.  And to me this makes a lot of sense. The last decade we as humans have really come full circle for the most part when looking at how we see our environment. Earth day, going “green”, recycling and trying to consume more organically. Makes perfect sense for the color of the year to be Greenery.

Honestly my personal favorites are Lapis Blue, Island Paradise, Hazelnut and Niagara.

What are your favorites? What do you think of the color of the year? I’d love to hear from you.  Hope y’all have a great day. And remember to always add a lil dapper to your everyday!

My 5 best Wedding Dress shopping tips

Hello my beauties! Well if you’re reading this post, then that probably means you have already read other articles about helping you find the “perfect” gown for your big day. And that’s a good thing! The more you know about the whole gown shopping process, the better your chances are of having an awesome experience & finding your gown that much faster. And just like with most everything in life, the knowledge you do acquire needs to be correct for it to do you any good. And that very thing is what has inspired me to write this post.

I have read sooooo many posts & articles that claim to know the true secret to finding your dream gown but most of the time they are anything but helpful. It seems like about 95-98% of them are just trying to sell you something or another. Leaving you wondering half way…

Creative Reception Table Numbers

Hello my sweets! I hope you all are having a great weekend so far. As you can probably guess, this post is about some awesome, creative ways to display the table numbers at your reception.
Really they can be used for any party or gathering you may be planning.

For anyone who is unfamiliar with wedding/party planning; Table Numbers are used so that your guests can easily find where they are supposed to sit. When you figure out the seating arrangement for everyone, you make individual cards or “escort cards” for each person with the table number & their name on them to put on display. Usually near the entrance to the venue is the best place.

I have heard & read that it is starting to be more of a trend to not have guests “assigned” to certain seats. And I totally get that. I personally did not have them at my wedding. But then again, I didn’t know about it either! I believe there are quite a few good reasons why you might want to have a seating arrangement: It makes counting how many people you’re serving a meal to easier. It helps take away the anxiety of making your guests have to guess where they should sit. On the more extreme end, you or your soon-to-be spouse might have family that just cannot sit near each other without fighting, ect. Heck, maybe you want to just for the fun decorative aspect! It makes your guests feel more involved in your big day to know you made a special place “just for them” at your dinner! And you don’t have to be throwing a party with 200+ guests to want to have a special place for them when they arrive. Either way, I do know when you’re in the middle of planning it is sometimes hard to come up with neat & fun ideas. I can easily do it for others but when it’s for Me I draw a blank lol. So hopefully this will help someone get their creative juices flowing. And maybe you will see something you might have not thought of on your own. I sure know I found a few I would’ve not thought about! Get your pin it buttons ready!

Great Gatsby Inspired Wedding @ St Clair Centre for the Arts

Love this! So gorgeous no words to it justice 🙂

This wedding was as creative and personal as it was beautiful. Melissa and Adam had decided on a Great Gatsby-inspired theme, working with Marz for lighting and special effects and Compliments G’lor for decor to bring their theme to life. A palette of soft amber, rose gold, ivory and glittering gold tablecloths made the ballrooms of St Clair Centre for the Arts sparkle. An elegant string light canopy framed the head table, with chandeliers adding an additional touch of glamour. In the corner sat a shining black Mustang convertible, which served as the feature of the couple’s grand entrance. A dramatic choreographed entrance spearheaded by Marz featured the couple “driving” into the ballroom, complete with the roaring noise of a car. The wedding party danced their way to the head table to the song “All of the Lights” by Kanye West and Rihanna. Once the dance party got started, Marz broke out…

Hello Lovelies! I was inspired today by these gorgeous gowns by Needle & Thread. And even more so than that – they are pretty darn affordable as well  I was pleasantly surprised when I looked them up. The ones I feature here can be found on BHLDN.com or Revolveclothing.com and are under $500! Can’t beat that! They look more like upwards of $5000 (to me anyway lol) So I hope you enjoy and have an Awesome Mother’s Day! See ya on the flip side 🌻😎
